Fostered to Mrs Ellen O’Brien. Address given in Northcote, but family know for a fact that Alice was brought up by “the O’brien sisters” and spent most of her time at Katamatite. She loved the O’Briens and seemed to have had a very happy childhood with them.
Folklore as told by Trix Saleeba:-
“Raised by 2 spinster sisters because her own family was so large the parents could not look after her. Was went to a convent for schooling, she chose not to become a nun.
When Annie died Alicia took on Trix as a daughter. Trix looked very like Annie.
