Richard married a Mary Ann, the only Richard & Mary Ann marriage recorded. They married in 1842 and seem not to have had any children. The will shown below would appear to be the will of this Richard RIPPER. It refers to his wife as Maryann, to his sisters but not to any children. His early demise may account for no children. He is described as a labourer on the will and as a storeman at marriage.

Will of Richard Ripper labourer deceased proved in common form before Alfred Roger Taylor clerk surrogate and admion of all and singular the goods of the said deceased and any way concerning the said will was granted to Thomas Thomas one of the executors in trust named in the said will reservation given to Henry Vivian the other executor in trust being first sworn etc saving etc

In the name of God amen. The tenth day of April one thousand eight hundred and forty seven, I Richard Repper of the parish of Redruth in the County of Cornwall labourer, being of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God, therefore calling into mind the mortality of my body, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say first I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my wife and executors, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me, I give demise and dispose of the following manner:-
I give and bequeath to my wife Maryan Repper all and singular my goods chattels lands messuages and tenements during her natural life, if she continue single, but it is my will that if she marry again that she be paid one shilling on the day of her marriage, and to have no further claim to my property with the exception of the household furniture
Lastly I give and bequeath to Capt Henry Vivian and Thomas Thomas all and singular my goods chattels lands and tenements as executors in trust of this my last will and testament, that no part of the property is to be sold without the consent of the above named executors, it is also my will in case my wife should marry again I give and bequeath to my sisters or their children my leasehold houses situated at Redruth and Camborne, And I do hereby disalow, revoke, and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies, bequests and executors by me in any ways before named ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above written.
