Will of Shadrick Stone

In The Name of God Amen. The thirteenth day of December in the year of our Lord God one Thousand Seven
Hundred and Eighty Three, 1783. I Shadrick Stone of the Isle of Portland in the County of Dorset, Yeoman,
being in Perfect Health, Sound Mind, Memory and Remembrance, Praised be God do make and ordain this to be
my Last will and Testament in Mannor and form following

First, I bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God and my Body to a Christian Burial and for what it
has pleased God to Bless me with in this Life I do hereby give and Dispose as followeth:

Imp: I give unto my Son, Shadrick Stone, my Dwelling house Messuage Land or Tenement Stable yard and
Backside thereunto Ajoyning to each other in the Village of Wakem. Together with my Barn Stable and a Little
outhouse Reek Bastin or Backside as well as the standlings for Corn in the said Backside ajoyning to Each
Other a Little distance from my said Dwelling houfe in the Village of Wakem. Also, I give to my Son Shadrick
Stone the following Meadow Close and Areable Lands.

Item: my large Meadow Close in or near the Village of Weston Called Broad Mead and a Smaller Close
ajoyning to the former called Broad Mead Also Two Closes in the Village of Wakem Called Simple Crofes and
all my Right in a pasture Close near my Dwelling house Called Church Napps Together also with my Right
meaning the one half of my Right in a Ware Called Horeto Wall and one half Penny Rent in the Easter ware
Called outer Wares and the one half of now or Late a Quarry ware near Church Points and all my Ware Called
Cheen and one Farthing Rent in the west wares Called the Round Wares, but now a Rubble Ground and Also
one Meadow Close near the Village of Weston Called Jobb Croft. Also my Meadow Clofe near the Village of
Weston Called Little Meads - Alfo one yard and half of Areable Land in Droopfield in Perry. Two yards and
half more in same field in a furlong Called Duck stile one yard more in the same field in Easter furlong one over
yard or yard and half more in the same East field in Perry - half acher in Court field at Hannas Crofts one yard
more of Areable Land in the west field in Wheat Lands. One yard more in Samefield at Rowbarrow Two yards
and half more in one piece in the East fieldin Silk Lake one yard more of Areable Land in the same field in
Yalland Called Short Batts and further I give to my son Shadrick Stone my Clock Long Board and Joynted
stooles belonging to the same and my Best Ovel Table alfo in my Room where my Clock stands and a large Chest
above (?)in my New Dwelling house together with my fireside iron Brands and a pair of Chest of Drawers in
my Chamber. All the above Premises Both house and Close all the above Meadow Pasture and Areable Land
and Ware, Rubble ground I freely give unto my son Shadrick Stone freely to him to give or to sell to him and his
heirs for ever According to the Custom of the Isleand Mannor of Portland with Appurtenances thereunto
belonging.

Item: I give unto my Daughter Agness now wife of Benjamin Gibbs the following Meadow, Pasture and
Areable Lands to Say Cone Close near the Village of Easton Called Middle Croft one Close near the Village of
Wakem Called Combs. One Meadow Close Near the Village of Weston Called Pitta Mead one Close near the
Village of Southwell called Duns Croft one meadow Close joyning Combs field Called Bottom Mead . One half
penny Rent in the East ware at Hore to Wall and one half penny Rent in East ware called outer ware and the
one half of my now or of Lots Quarry ware near Church Pointe and all my Right of one farthing rent in Church
point and also to my Daughter Agness I give Three yards in one piece of areable Land in Droopfield in Germans
Lands and Three yards and half of arable Land in the west field in Woolland. half a acher of areable Land in
In mosthay half a Acher of areable Land in the East field in hile (sic) one half Acher more in Lano field in
Yalland. One half Acher more in Coombsfield under Jobb Croft. Also, one Yard and half more of areable land in
Droopfield above Combe. All the above to my Daughter Agness the now wife of Benjamin Gibbs freely to She
to give or Sell to She and her heirs forever According to the Customs of the Isle and Mannor of Portland with
the Appurtenances thereunto belonging.

And lastly I do hereby appoint and Ordain my Son, Shadrick Stone and my Daughter Agness the now wife of
Benjamin Gibbs to be my full and Sole Joynt and Equal Executor and Executrix of this my last will and
Testament Revoking all other wills before by me made . In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
Seal the day and Year first above written.
