Stephen Egerton’s widow, SARAH CROOKE, belonged to a PURITAN family, as did her husband. She was sister of SIR THOMAS
CROOKE of BALTIMORE.

DEAN TYNDALL, Stephen Egerton's Cousin, was master of Queen’s College, Cambridge and died 1615. In ELY Cathedral. On the
floor are the matrices of many brasses. One is for Dean Tyndall, who is represented in his robe , with a square cut beard. The
inscription is as follows……

Usquequo, Domine, Usquequo The body of the worthy and reverend prelate. Umphry Tyndall doth here expect the coming of our
Saviour.
