I would be interested to know if you have any information on the Ramsden family. When Hannah came to the US she had her daughter Mary Ann with her and very shortly after their arrival she married a fellow named Stephen Ramsden. His father was also Stephen Ramsden who was born in England about 1853 and came to the US in 1872. I haven’t been able to find a Stephen Ramsden in Lancashire but I figure he must be related in some way to James. Have you come across any Stephen Ramsden’s in your research?
I have not been able to find where Hannah was on the 1910 census so I do not know if James came with them to the States. Hannah married James Webb in November of 1912 and the name she used was Hannah Gregory. Maybe she didn’t stay with James too long and when she came to the States reverted back to the Gregory name. The marriage record lists her birth date as 23 Oct. 1858.
